I bet this gets your attention

I want to share two videos with you that caught my attention this morning. I think they will catch your attention too.

Police proposal at Pride

Notice I didn’t say I wanted to share a video you’re necessarily going to like or agree with.

None of that matters in the first instance, because the objective of your first marketing contact point is just to get someone’s attention. Not to educate them. Not to sell to them. Not to extract credit card information out of their pocket.

In the first instance you just need their attention.

The second video that caught my attention this morning was this:

Politics satire

Play video

Political satire is one of the oldest forms of comedy. The original role of comedy in Ancient Greek theatre was to take the, ahem, piss out of elected politicians sitting in the front row of the performance. Just to keep them in check.

(They could get away with this of course because the actors wore masks!)

Boy do we need some more political satire in the world today.

Getting attention is the first step in the full marketing nurture process. We talked about the complete process in this week’s Confusion Clinic webinar, The Full Marketing Nurture Process.

Watch the recording now

The webinar recording comes down at Midnight tonight, UK time. It’s 40 minutes long. If you have a sales cycle that lasts longer than five minutes I guarantee it will be a good use of your time.
