The easiest thing is to hide your work…

So, it turns out I’m not the only writer in the family. Before he retired two years ago, my Dad spent the last five years of his professional life hiding away in electrical cupboards, writing stories.

Since he retired, his stories are now (slowly) making their way onto the internet, under the pen name T.S.Bryan. Having been rejected by countless publishers, he’s now decided he wants to self publish.

Which places me in the firing line for advice.

I’m like, “Dad, do you know how much I charge for that??

Anyhow. The main thing is that he’s doing it. The easiest thing to do as a writer is hide your work; to assume it isn’t good enough or nobody will be interested.

His website’s at www.tsbryan.co.uk. I think it has major issues at the moment, which you can hear about here. But a site with major issues is infinitely better than one that doesn’t exist.

Getting something out there to begin with is often the biggest hurdle.
